Al Carbon
The I first went to Al Carbon it was the best burger around. Its a STUFFED Burger… with almost anything you might want. There wasn’t much competition back then, few craft places or pub style burger joints. Its still really really good, as are the ribs, and deserts. If you are down Coral Way and want a burger, maybe to sit outside or bring the dog? this is a good place to go.
Boho
Another nice Wednesday night find I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. On Main Highway in the grove we took Emma ( the puppy) out to dinner and found ourselves at a lovely outdoor table where i could watch all the action in the Grove. Dinner was good. I would go back. It might not be my first choice, but it was good. Its hard, When you go to a new restaurant every week for years, it takes a lot to make the list of places i want to go back to. Sorry Boho, you were good, just not special enough.

Havana Harry’s
Good Ol’ Havanna Harry’s. Always good. Never having been to Havanna I can’t say how authentic it is here but i can tell you that all day every day people are enjoying an abundance of food at a good price . All full flavored and amazing desserts.

The Perfume Collector
I fell into this book because of the images the title conjured up for me. And something about it clicked. It wasn’t the most unusual story or the best writing ever but the story stuck with me and i liked the characters. If you are looking for a simple read, but better than a beach book, you might try this one.
Sweet Dog
We go high and we go low and we go everyplace in the middle. This was low. Four seats at the counter for a decent dog and mac&cheese. My dad is an arbiter man, i grew up on Nathan’s in Yonkers and this doesn’t come close.
Such a fun read.

I have always gone at someone else suggestion and never been unhappy. Last time I was here I tried the ribs. I must say, they give the wings a run for their money. A neighborhood pizza place. I could take it or leave it.
