On Giralda, tonight we brought the dog and sat outside at Mesa Mar. Bug city. I don’t recommend the outdoor seating at this time of year but I loved this place. It has everything it takes to be a new favorite.
Great food, including a magnificent Chocolate Mousse. we ate off the Miami Spice Menu. Sharing all good things. A grilled fish, what presentation. A small Filet Mignon with potatoes. Fresh delicious veggies. The appetizer sushi and fish croquettes. And two of those wonder Mousse Desserts.
With a chef owner on site it was ll spectacular.
City Cakes – It’s not really cakes. Its cupcakes and cookies and all tempting things!!! This 4′ X 6′ , practically underground bake shop at 251 west 18th Street (Btw 7th & 8th Ave) caught my eye as I was walking to the Joyce to see The Parsons Dance Company– Amazing . Afterwards I took the girls, they had the tarter key lime cupcake while I enjoyed the standard birthday cake. To resist the cookies was a feat- when i saw the three 1/2 pound cookies stacked into a cake with icing between the layers- lets just say the girls had to drag me out.
We have discovered Doral and are loving it. This past Wednesday we ate at this family friendly plain old restaurant. What a joy. No style, no theme, just good food and a great looking menu.
Oh yeah, and cloth napkins and an amazing dessert. Unfortunately the salt was too thick to shake from their shakers but they gladly brought me a small bowl.
We shared a 24 oz. Porterhouse which was accompanied by yuca fries ( i would get the regular fries next time) . It came with a sharing size salad with a delicious citrus dressing. The steak was cooked as we ordered it, medium rare, and really tasty. As good as any steak ouse but without the pretentiousness. We also had a mac and cheese which was ordinary and extraordinary and worth ordering.
Then onto dessert… A mug of cookies and cream milkshake , topped with a white chocolate brownie covered with vanilla ice cram.. and the greatest largest start ever.
No need to order dinner, just get the dessert!
Good Ol’ Havanna Harry’s. Always good. Never having been to Havanna I can’t say how authentic it is here but i can tell you that all day every day people are enjoying an abundance of food at a good price . All full flavored and amazing desserts.
A traditional Ice Cream Parlor imitation. The sundaes are served in tall glass bowls, the ice cream is great and people love the patty melt too.
off US1 at LeJeune. We love it. its just cuban, not that i am an expert, but the food arrives in abundance, the place is just your everyday eating.
They offer an amazing fried fish appetizer, we always get a vaca frita ( or tres fritas) if we remember. I also always must order dessert.
Casual comfortable french place at Merrick park. Not as pretty as Sawa across the grass but equally as good.
The perfect lunch spot. Located on the curve on Coral Way. You can get anything.. sandwiches, salads, my favorite the fungi pasta. and dessert! cakes, and croissant and pudding.
You either like it here or you dont. For me, you can’t beet the mongolian beef and the fried rice. The rest is always just chinese and not interesting. So last night i decided to try shrimp in lobster sauce, and it was surprisingly good.
Disco fries. A grilled swiss cheese with bacon on whole wheat with BBQ sauce on the side. Its a divests yummy, you can wait for a table at breakfast or lunch.
