On the 79th Street Causeway. And worth it. An interesting menu, a place that is filled with regulars, where you can bring the dog.

Sometimes on a Wednesday night Todd knows just where we are going, usually actually that is the case. But I think we wound up here completely by accident. And we loved it. We still aren’t sure what the name is about. 5 hams? yeah, but there seems to be more to it- that is the idea of ‘five hams’ has some connotation that we dont get. But the meats are great, the sides and service also wonderful , and some nights there is a latin band.
Chocolate Fashion
One in the Gables, the other in South Miami. Both small, loud, crowded and very good. At both locations I prefer to sit on the sidewalk if the weather allows. Great sandwiches, good salads, and the most amazing chocolate cookie that is really a brownie in disguise.

The food was fabulous, The wait an hour, the price outrageous.
Took my mom here one of those days when we were stupid hungry. It absolutely loved like the business place to see and be seen. They offered a 29 dollar lunch but we wanted something else. When the bill came our something else was 145 dollars a piece. Nothing is that good if it doesn’t clean up after me.
El Chalan
Near Tropical Park. A family style Peruvian restaurant. Again, i like aji de galina. You can get fish, or meat, fried rice, fried food. Its all good. Very casual.
Il Gabbiano
Downtown. And wonderful. A top notch Italian restaurant where you can often be treated like gold. Though just as often the snob factor and see and be seen atmosphere can dampen the evening. But you won’t get better food. you jus wont.

what an incredible disappointment. Perfectly situated in the grove with a comfortable seating arrangement and a good location. But the food really went good. No promise, no need to ever go again.
Lola’s Gourmet
I really wanted to go to Lola’s. I saw it out my car window near 8th street and red road and thought there was something about it. I was right.
Sort of Spanish, Sort of Rustic, sort of Familyish the food was good. I am still not certain what to order because I know we ordered wrong. And if we were allowed to go back to a place we had been Todd and I would return. But the rules are we can’t go back together so eventually I will go back with someone else.
TANI THAI
I have eaten here a few times and yeah, its good enough, but i never get that urge to go back. So, i order the Basil Duck to go and I’m happy.
