The Wedding Plan

I wish i could say I loved it as it deserved to be loved but I thought it dragged. It was introduced as romantic, funny and uplifting, i didn’t find it any of those.  Amusing, a few interesting moments looking into the home of an observant Israeli woman, but not going to show up on my must see list.

Norman

Richard Gere was at his best in American Gigilo.  No matter what he does after he will always be that gigilo perfection.  Norman was no American Gigilo but I was able to pretend and enjoy.  It certainly isn’t a movie I would encourage you to see if you only have time for 1 or 2 movies, but it was a good story.  I was wrapped up in Normans world, aching for his pain and wishing for his triumph.   Did I mention Richard Gere.

Cultivate Positive Emotions

You can learn to get rid of the negativity, or at least to get it under control.

This from a recent article in The New York Times

It’s a simple concept: we construct our internal reality – our experience of the world — in large part by where we put our attention. More often than we recognize, we can make that choice consciously and intentionally. Doing so influences not just how we feel, but also how we perform, individually and collaboratively. It turns out that cultivating positive emotions such as joy, contentment, interest, pride and love pays huge dividends.

The Promise –

If you, like I , enjoy foreign films, and are accustomed to reading subtitles, use this skill in this movie.  Tho the subject is a good one, the Armenian genocide, the dialogue and complete lack of acting ability on the part of two of the three leads makes it almost impossible not to walk out of the theater – so I pretended I was reading the words rather than listening to the forced, unrealistic, and poorly acted script.   The scenery was beautiful, the costumes at times breathtaking, but thats all the good I can muster.
