No, I don’t really eat here though I have. Yes, I do drop into The Cheesecake factory periodically to bring home a nice slice of their Oreo Cheesecake. Mostly because it is the most satisfying cool sweet taste.

Not the most special, not the most fun, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. Just good basic places to choose from when you are looking for a new place to go
Cheese Course
I was so surprised to find I’m happy hear. I like the desserts, Like shopping while I wait for my lunch, and i especially like the brie and mushroom soup
Havanna Harry’s
off US1 at LeJeune. We love it. its just cuban, not that i am an expert, but the food arrives in abundance, the place is just your everyday eating.
They offer an amazing fried fish appetizer, we always get a vaca frita ( or tres fritas) if we remember. I also always must order dessert.
Lung Yao
8th Street about 22nd av? I love it. But come prepared. There is often a wait for a seat in this tiny open kitchen Thai place. The food is worth it but then you have to decide if you can live by the rules. Mainly, order once and dont try to add on. You would think they would be happy to sell you more but it is known around town that they have refused to add onto your order.
Latin House
Out Sunset at about 97th. And not really Latin. This place turns out a great burger and has unique and delicious gastro pub style food.
La Cameronera
When I first started coming here it was standing room only. Get a fried fish sandwich or my favorite the fried seafood in chili sauce. My dad liked the oysters and its just a great place to go if you haven’t been.
Papa Piccolo

A favorite. Conveniently located but hidden in a small neighborhood shopping plaza I always get the tortellini alfredo. The salad dressing is great as is the chicken Marsala. I hear the pizza is first rate. Go, enjoy.
Flanigans
In the grove. I love it. In Pinecrest, not so much. Its the same food but the place isn’t as pleasant. I say use it for take out.
Fratelli Milano
downtown. Everything was good and i do love going to new places every week. But our rule is we never repeat a place. so unless it is outstanding its usually just the once, and this one is not convenient enough to return to, tho everything really was marvelous.

The Local
I was first to the Local with a group of six.. the perfect size group to eat there. great sharing plates arrived one after the other and each was tasty. You can also get a good burger, great Fries and i like the chicken dumpling soup. On Giralda in the Gables. Be cautioned- they have lunch hours, dinner hours, and an in-between hour where getting food isn’t necessarily easy.
