A NEW FAVORITE
AROMAS DEL PERU, how have we waited so long to try you.
Pisco Sours, Fried corn with green sauce, a fish fry, and the most delectable piece of Corvina – cooked and spiced to perfection.
Paper napkins would be my only hesitation… but those of you who know me know I have developed the habit of carrying my own cloth napkin with me.
We went to the one near Red Road on 8th Street. Now, as you may know we do not repeat a place on Wednesday nights, however, we think we might try all four locations.. that’s not cheating, is it? And, we actually were here on a Saturday…
THE EXCEPTION
What does the title mean, why call this movie The Exception. It took some to figure it out, but wow, what a story. And told so well. The background was beautiful, the people enchanting, filled with moments of joy and terror and questioning.
THE UNCOMMON READER
The most fun I’ve had reading since Ella Minnow Pee. In this short novel the Queen finds herself , at the age of 80, reading for pleasure for the first time in her life. We follow the irritation of the court, The Queens quirky character, and her interactions. A quick read, and a delight.
Another Book by Rachel Cusk
Im still trying to figure out her message. I love the writing style. Her main character isn’t in many ways at all what the story is about yet she plays a central role.
In this story, A writer, off to participate in a panel, meets along her way various characters. Just as in outline, the stories they relay are the novel.
Pretty Bad Movie – The Beguiled
I have few good things to say about The Beguiled. If I search for something positive I suppose it would have to be I wasn’t bored watching. For me the story didn’t hold true. The characters were insincere, the moral missing, the purpose- anybodies guess. More, it didn’t hold true in any way to it’s time period. Go see something else.

Escaping her life, Stella finds herself companion to Martin, a young man confined to a wheelchair. From the British upper class, he shares his ancestral home with his parents. The people who pass through this tale seem to tell Stellas story. I cant describe the pleasure I had reading this.
