Salvadore D is a surprising little place hidden in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza at Sunset and 87th. Its been there for years and is considered to be one of the finer Italian spots in town, certainly outside of the Gables and Downtown. Continue reading “Salvadore D”

Il forno
Back to Doral… I’m still not sure what or where it is but its fifteen minutes north on the palmetto?? maybe? and filled with good food.
The large room was anchored by a wood fired oven. The tables were well spaced, the patrons all happy. Great drinks, good food, good service.
I had a veal chop with potatoes and spinach. All top notch. The bread was puffy and oil for dipping fresh.
If i lived in Doral might keep trying it.
Macalusos
Its too bad the the wait staff and the management all have a snotty chip on their shoulder because the food is good. But i will never go back.
Il Molino

very expensive, very chic, very good. And when you sit down they bring you some fried veggie and cheese etc.
Ciro’s
Across from the falls in the Publix shopping center four times out of five i have had to wait for a table. A short wait but still a wait so I tend to take out.
Cibo Wine Bar
what a happy place. in coral gables. Eat inside at the bar, eat outside on the patio, and drink. a most wonderful bartender. And a wine room behind glass with an adorable girl on a swing/ in a harness, playing. http://www.cibowinebar.com
Caffe Abbracci
One of the finest Italian restaurants in Coral Gables, a city filled to the brim with good places to eat , especially Italian. Each with its own feel. I like to sit out front and visit with the other diners on the sidewalk Its a totally different experience than eating inside with its noisy atmosphere and up sale crowd. I always get the breaded veal chop.
