Wallcast at The New World Symphony

Sitting inside at a concert in the beautiful, acoustically magnificent concert hall is a wonderful experience.  But sitting outside on the grass is almost as good.

With a state of the art speaker system 1000 people enjoy the sound, and with a six story wall where the concert is projected lets you see and hear the best of it.  Come early, bring some chairs, a picnic, friends, a bottle of wine.

Castelluccio Ristorante

This was one of those fun nights out.  The food was fine, but the experience was too memorable.  Todd and I went because he knew someone who knew the owner.  Whoever she was she joined us for appetizers and totally entertained us.  Then , after dessert, her young daughter serenaded us.   I can’t say go or not.  its worth a try if you have a recommendation from another source.

Lincoln Road Miami Beach

If you are visiting from out of town, and staying out on Miami Beach then you will need to take an evening stroll on Lincoln Road.  Best to go later on a Friday or Saturday night when the full effect can be enjoyed, or Sunday for brunch and the farmers market. But the real attraction on Lincoln road is the people watching.  Tourists galore but mixd in are the locals walking their dogs and each other.  Perhaps do a little shopping and grab an ice cream.

One Day University

My dream year would look like this.  I would spend a few nights here in Miami each week, then fly out for three days to different cities across the country to attend all the interesting learning happening at One Day U.  Spend a day in the classroom, three nights eating fabulous food, a day walking and shopping the second hand shops and art galleries, and a day at the local museum/garden.  oh, would it be!

Another nice car ride, and if you are here for a week and want to spend the night in Naples and see what that’s all about, driving across Tamiami Trail, through Big Cypress, stop in at the famous Everglades  photographers museum.  Or just drive out for the afternoon.

People come to Miami and they think of South Beach.  I don’t know why south Beach.  Yes there is some interesting architecture but what else is there?  night life, hot sand beaches, overpriced food.   I don’t get it.
