Out Sunset at about 97th. And not really Latin. This place turns out a great burger and has unique and delicious gastro pub style food.
La Cameronera
When I first started coming here it was standing room only. Get a fried fish sandwich or my favorite the fried seafood in chili sauce. My dad liked the oysters and its just a great place to go if you haven’t been.
Big Fish
Sadly, last year, i think this place burned to the ground after a bolt smashed into its dock. But i could be wrong. Either way it is now closed and its a loss. The closest thing, which actually exceeds it , is Cafe Roval for a lovely outdoor dinner. Perhaps Rouge also competes.
Fratelli Milano
downtown. Everything was good and i do love going to new places every week. But our rule is we never repeat a place. so unless it is outstanding its usually just the once, and this one is not convenient enough to return to, tho everything really was marvelous.
Le Vinois Bakery
6322 N Powerline. So way north. I found this place because they come down to the Coral Gables farmers market and the breads were great. SO i have it on my list of places to go.
la Boulangerie
The perfect lunch spot. Located on the curve on Coral Way. You can get anything.. sandwiches, salads, my favorite the fungi pasta. and dessert! cakes, and croissant and pudding.
Ricos
Another Todd special. This time we are listening to salsa music, sitting at our picnic table waiting for our meal that is being cooked on an open grill on the side of this renovated gas station. I gotta say, if you are hanging out with friends, wanna drink some beer and sit somewhere that you are sure not to run into anyone you know. This could be the place. Or, one day it will be the hottest spot in town, but i doubt it.
Soho House
Brunch on Miami Beach. Brunch Buffet on Miami Beach. WOW.. i think they offer this buffet on both Saturday and Sunday. If you love to eat, people watch and be somewhere beautiful, then try it. Make sure you have a reservation. There are so few really lovely calm light places to enjoy a meal. go and invite me to join you!
