Head-long
I am officially in love with Michael Frayn. Head-long was the first, then Skios, and now on my phone My Father’s Fortune which seems to be auto biographical. And all a pleasure.
The Novitiate
I don’t think this movie will encourage you to become a nun, but it was fascinating to watch. A young neglected girl falls in love with the church and we watch as she goes through the stages to take her vows. Simultaneously Vatican II is happening outside the walls, and eventually inside. I was shocked to find that 90,000 nuns left their calling as the repercussions of Vatican II.
The Jade Pendant
Without a doubt the WORST movie I have seen in years.
LBJ
Absolutely marvelous! And from Rob Reiner so I want to believe it’s accurate. All about the civil rights bill and Johnson’s role. A great look back at the times without being preachy.
aida’s secret
Once again I found myself walking across the park to The Lincon Center Movie Theatre. A new story, a documentary, a reason to reflect, count your blessings, remember horror, and a journey. I could have liked the characters more, but i didn’t need to. the story was just compelling enough to keep me interested. And free.
Faces,Places
A documentary of sorts and a totally happy, feel good, just yes experience
Wonderstruck
A perfect made for tv movie. Wonderstruck is another example of two stories converging, you are left wondering how. A few interesting characters but too many that aren’t. If you haven’t noticed, I am not recommending it.
Loving Vincent
A delight to behold. Animated with oil painting this visual masterpiece begs to be enjoyed. I loved it. The story, eh, who cares that much. But the beauty… and who thought of it, who pulled it together. How happy I am that they did.

The Dream Lover By Elizabeth Berg
wow.. what a beautiful read. The semi fictional life of George Sands.. Guess what is going on my reading list next.
Not only was the story compelling but the writing, the language, the descriptions, the style… everything mad meme want to never finish reading.
