8th Street about 22nd av? I love it. But come prepared. There is often a wait for a seat in this tiny open kitchen Thai place. The food is worth it but then you have to decide if you can live by the rules. Mainly, order once and dont try to add on. You would think they would be happy to sell you more but it is known around town that they have refused to add onto your order.

Seven Dials
On Minorca off Douglas. Seven Dials is way off the beaten path but they have a following. We went on a Wednesday night and it felt like another great find. But, in the end it was average. A friend from England says the fish and chips is the best in town. I went back, tried it and liked it. Parking can be a pain, and there are better places. But i would happily go back and try it again.
Latin House
Out Sunset at about 97th. And not really Latin. This place turns out a great burger and has unique and delicious gastro pub style food.
Antica Mare
On the water on the 79th street causeway I loved this place. The guy who owns it knows his salt

Georges in South Miami
I do not understand the fuss. Its a popular place with people bleeding out onto the streets on a saturday evening. The food is almost average, the service and atmosphere must be the draw. I wouldn’t go back. Eat next door at the sports grill.
La Cameronera
When I first started coming here it was standing room only. Get a fried fish sandwich or my favorite the fried seafood in chili sauce. My dad liked the oysters and its just a great place to go if you haven’t been.
Fornaro
This was a place i so wanted to see survive. They had a great menu, a great attitude, a great location and not great food.
Papa Piccolo

A favorite. Conveniently located but hidden in a small neighborhood shopping plaza I always get the tortellini alfredo. The salad dressing is great as is the chicken Marsala. I hear the pizza is first rate. Go, enjoy.
Flanigans
In the grove. I love it. In Pinecrest, not so much. Its the same food but the place isn’t as pleasant. I say use it for take out.
